The experience of beauty is multidimensional. It has the capacity to anchor every sensory system in your body to a memory and if it is a pleasant memory, I would love to take a great care of storing in a way that is easily accessible.

That is where taking photographs comes in. Capturing impermanent beauty that contains memory of smells, sounds, emotions, temperature, notion of events that happened just before, thoughts and ideas that were permeating at the time in my mind, all infuse that capture and sometimes, if I am lucky, come through the image for someone else to witness.

This photo was taken one quiet afternoon, where the beautiful glow of the winter afternoon sun gently bounced off wall the room, like an experienced stage lighting technician, highlighting only the things you needed to see in that moment. It was quiet and very still like it is only in those magical twilight moments, the smell of drying Christmas tree needles filled the room, the world was still and the feeling of not having to do anything in particular, but just be in that moment, was soothing, comforting and akin to surrendering to savasana.

I can access that feeling of relaxation by looking at that image. Images are the windows or doors to the multitudes of emotions, feelings, sensations, and experiences. Beauty is a healer because it has the capacity to connect them all in an intangible energetic and nourishing elixir.

So the creators of beauty are the apothecaries for the soul.
